Dadi Janki Ji
Revered Rajyogini Dadi Janki Ji was born on January 01, 1916 in the northern province of sindh, now in Pakistan. Since her very early days, a concern for the well being of others was driving force in her life.
In 1937, at the age of21, Dadi ji joined the Ishwariye Vishwa Vidyalaya, founder by Prajapita Brahma. After serving through out India, she moved to London, UK in 1974. Through her words of wisdom and deep personal understanding and experiences, people with spiritual bent of mind, soon realized that the University’s core teaching of self reliance through understanding and connection with the Supreme, was the need of the hour in the Western world also. They experienced that an over emphasis on material success had led to spiritual poverty and a decline in the higher values that spring from our spiritual roots.
Dadiji also led the development of several international projects promoting values and action at the grass root level. The Brahma Kumaris maintain a strong presence and contribution at the United Nations, and Dadiji has served as One of the Keepers of Wisdom, an advisory group of eminent spiritual and religious leaders at the UN Earth Summit in Rio, Brazil and at Habitat II in Istanbul, Turkey.
In 1997, the Janki Foundation was established and launched in London, in honour of Dadi Ji.
Now, when her 100th Year of Life is being celebrated with vigour, entusiasm and joy, Dadiji still travels extensively, enabling leaders from the realm of politics, religion, science, medicin, education and other fields as well as individuals at every level of society, to absorb spiritual strength by renewing their own link with the supreme soul. At present she is the Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris Organisation.
